In view of many long and steep slope sections in mountainous areas, heavy overload and asphalt aging, the service life has exceeded 15 years before major overhaul and reconstruction. The main disease types are cracking, longitudinal and transverse cracks, local rutting and slurry pumping.
Main Work Undertaken
Based on the multi-dimensional deep-level and refined inspection and evaluation of the old road, JSTI formulated the pavement maintenance planning and design objectives and proposed a scientific and reasonable maintenance planning and design scheme through the multi-index decay characteristics and in-depth analysis of the causes of the diseases.
Innovation Points
For sections with poor pavement conditions, after milling the original upper and middle surface courses and the 3~5cm lower surface course, the remaining lower surface course and upper base course shall be subjected to full-depth in-situ cold recycling treatment, with the recycling thickness of 20-22cm, on which 8cm foam asphalt cold recycling, 6cm sup20 and rubber asphalt SMA-13 structure shall be laid in turn.
